Chop Chop Wok is located in Khadda Market, which offers affordable and quality Pan Asian food. The 1000 square foot restaurant employs a subtle and minimalist design technique to create a casual and informal atmosphere.
Coalesce Design Studio has taken a simplistic and clean design approach that is reflected in all aspects of the project. From the branding strategy to the design concept to the product design – Coalesce Design Studio and Chop Chop Wok have worked collaboratively to deliver creativity and innovation.
To further fulfil a clean design approach, natural qualities of constitutive materials have been given special prominence to maintain a pure, simple state. The use of sustainable pinewood adds warmth, while liberal applications of concrete create an earthy feel and inviting atmosphere. Particular attention has been paid to the details reflected in the meticulous craftsmanship in the lighting and woodwork, which adds to the dining experience.
With space limitation, Coalesce Design Studio has created a design solution that combines an open plan layout with communal seating. Simple decisions such as the use of benches versus individual chairs add to the efficiency and casual atmosphere of the space rather than private dining. The visual connection with the dining and kitchen area further enhances the connectivity and adds to the informal ambience.
Chop Chop Wok maintains clear and separate architectural components which have carefully been assembled together to create a complete yet concise look. The purity of materials along with a minimal approach resulted in a clean, sustainable, and timeless design.
